About Early Years

Picture

Early Years Preschool is a not-for-profit corporation designed to meet the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical needs of pre-school aged children. Activities are offered each day to help each child develop his or her potential in these areas. Early Years’ mission is to combine a nurturing environment and a developmentally appropriate curriculum. We respect the fact that children learn through play.

We are a non-denominational school that accepts children of all religious, cultural, and social backgrounds. Early Years does not discriminate against applicants and students on the basis of race, color or national or ethnic origin.

At Early Years We Strive To:

  • Promote and encourage the individualized development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  • Provide an atmosphere that is rich in educational materials, while adopting a schedule that promotes social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development through play and socialization
  • Encourage strong communication between staff and parents
  • Promote the involvement of families in their children’s development at Early Years Preschool by providing opportunities for volunteering based on parents’ interests and talents

    Staff

    Director: Rachel Potts
    Assistant Director: Sabrina Meadows

Early Years teachers are selected not only for their credentials in early childhood education, but for their warm, caring personalities and dedication to children. Each class is led by one lead and one assistant teacher, all of whom meet Virginia state and Arlington County licensing requirements. Staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR, and regularly participate in professional workshops and training sessions focusing on early childhood development issues. Early Years is an equal opportunity employer.
